1.)
Sand model as needed.
2.)
During the building process of the acrylic
model, wax is used to support the part as it is built. Our unique process
of wax removal is 99.5% effective, but there may potentially be a tiny
amount in the corners. Removal is easy with a razor knife.
3.)
4.)
5 .)
6 .)
Dip the model in 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
for approximately 1-2 minutes. This removes any possible residue from
the cleaning chemicals that we use. Do not leave models in Alcohol for
extended periods of time (>30 minutes).
We recommend the use of water-based acrylic paints to paint your models
ONLY! Please do not use enamel-based paints or solvent-based paints.
Some brand-name water-based acrylic paints that we use are:
Folk Art, Ceramacoat, Apple Barrel Colors, Plaid, Testors Floquil Polly
Scale, Badger MODELflex
(Most are available through hobby and craft stores)
If you have any other paints that do or don't work well or techniques,
please use our Contact
Us page, so that we can enhance this information for everyone.
